The main differences between the geography of the north and south are that the north has more mountains and hill and the south has a lot of coastal plains. The north has eighty to two hundred days for growing season and the south has from eighty to two hundred forty days for growing season. In the north the climate is mostly humid continental which has short warm summers and cold winters. In the south the climate is mostly humid subtropical with mild winters and hot humid summers.
